Prayer is a familiar word and action for Grace and Glory members. We join in prayer during Worship, we pray for those on the Prayer List, we pray for those whose names come to us by e-mail and the telephone prayer chain.
The Evangelism Committee has chosen as a task in our Action Plan “to call the congregation to specific prayer for those who are without a church home and those unfamiliar to the message of salvation through Jesus Christ. This can be done through prayers offered during worship as well as prayers offered during individual’s personal devotions at home.
Everyone has family members and friends who are without a church home. Let’s pray for them so that they are moved by the Holy Spirit to attend worship at a church of their choice. Hopefully they will experience the joys of belonging to a Christian congregation. The Evangelism Committee has created a 'Heart' poster which is behind the altar on Sunday mornings. Initials and/or first names of unchurched friends and relatives can be written on the poster during Communion. There is a pen attached to the easel.
When someone who is identified on the poster has begun attending worship, a gold star is attached next to their name. The stars are clipped to the poster.
